Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

Prompt: A metaphor I would use is the mind is a clear lake, its surface smooth and bright. I would use this metaphor because that's been how I've been feeling since the school year has started. It perfectly describes how my mind is right now. Sooner or later it will probably be more chaotic though. Summary: Today, we analyzed and answered questions on a poem. Reflection: Today I learned how to analyze a poem.

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt: An adventure I would like to go is to go backpacking with friends in Europe. I want to do this so I can experience the different cultures there. I would also want to experience the different cuisines as well. The reason I would want to do it the most is because it would be something different that I'm doing with my friends. I actually might do it next year after I graduate. Summary: Today, we presented, took notes, read a poem, and answered questions about the poem. Reflection: Today, I learned how to analyze poems.

Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt: Something I don't fully understand is how people don't fully invest in themselves. I don't understand this because I would think that they would want to have a productive future with a good paying job. It makes no sense to me how some people could just live their life without setting up their future ahead of them. Or at least working on themselves to where they would be okay without their parents. Just some thoughts man. Summary: Today, we presented our original myth posters to the class. Reflection: I learned how to present correctly in front of a class.

Write about something that you wish you had more of.

Prompt: Something I wish I had more of is time. I wish I had more time because every time I get home I never have enough time to do everything I need to do. It make a lot of things easier for me. Especially since basketball is starting back up. I would be able to get way more sleep which would make me more productive doing the day. Summary: Today, I worked on my poster on Adobe Express. Reflection: I learned how to add features to a poster on Adobe Express.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

Prompt:  The most creative thing I've ever made is  probably this art piece I made in 8th grade for Art class. It was a man falling through the sky while looking at the sun. The context of the picture was a man falling out of an airplane that broke apart. What makes the picture so good in my opinion is that you can see all of the emotion in the man's face. You can see his sorrow, his regret, and him wishing he could have lived more. All I can say is I was an artist back in the day. Summary: Today, you showed us how to use Adobe Express and we finished up on our original myth story. Reflection: I learned how to create a poster for original myth story.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

Prompt: Two burning questions I have are why does everyone feel the right to lie. The second question is why is it so easy for someone to do something bad when they had a good life. The first question matters to me because sometimes I notice that a person is lying to me and it doesn't make sense because if they were honest from the start I would be good. The reason the second question matters to me is because I have family members who have had good life's until they got caught doing something dumb. Causing their life to have a down spiral, which doesn't make sense to me because why would you do that. Summary: We worked on creating our own origin myth. Reflection: I learned how to create my own original myth.

Describe a time you felt completely lost

Prompt: A time I felt completely lost was probably the beginning of the basketball my sophomore year. The reason I felt lost was because they put me on the Junior Varsity team. Considering I was injured during the tryouts I was lucky to make the team, but back then I was mad because I felt like I should've made varsity. When I was finally cleared to play I had no motivation at that point. So I just played the games and went to practice, without working on myself individually. That was probably the worst I played since I started. It's fine though because i'm going tom pick it up this year. Summary: Today, all classes presented their presentation to the class, then we did our blogger post. Reflection: I learned how to state lesson and theme of a story instead of just talking about a topic from the story.

Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

Prompt: At first I thought that class was going to be really hard but as I progressed I realized that it wouldn't be that hard if I just did my work. One of my strengths in this class will probably be that i'm interested in the Native American stories that we've been covering so far. An example of this is I was able to do the Navajo Creation questions in like 30-40 minutes because of how interested I was in the story. One of my weaknesses in this class will be that if I don't find the story interesting I won't be able to focus on it. An example of this is in my class last year we were reading this but it wasn't really interesting to me. So when she gave us quizzes about the story I would struggle. Summary: Today we took an assessment on illuminate, then we worked on group work, and after this we did our blog for the day. Reflection: I learned how to use the process of elimination when i'm answering a multiple choice question.

Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

Prompt: A real- life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship I experienced would probably back in my freshman year when I dated this girl. whenever I would see her talking to dudes, I would get jealous and it was the same way when she seen me talking to a girl but eventually it just got tiring doing all that. The relationship between me and her just kept getting worse and worse. Until eventually we broke up. Sometimes I think back on it think about what I could've did better but then I realize that it was good that it happened. So I can know what not to do when I get in future relationships. Summary: Today, we read the story "The Jealous Father" in class and we got into groups to work on a slideshow project about the story. Reflection: Today, I learned how to properly show the themes of a story.

Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story

Writing prompt: A meaningful place in my life that carries a story has to this old basketball court I used to train at. It used to be my uncle’s gym. He was training me for about a year and a half till some stuff had happened with our family and we stopped. Then about two years later he had passed away. I regretted not training with him for a while after that but it taught me to never stop working hard.  Summary: we read the story Navajo creation story and answered questions about it. Reflection: I learned how to figure out a story’s theme today.

Write about a time you felt a connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths

Prompt Response: A time I felt connected to nature was probably when I was in middle school. I had just got back home from school and I didn't have any homework. So me and my friend walked through these woods that was by my house. We walked for about thirty minutes then turned around. It was so beautiful, we even seen a deer eating. Summary: We learned about how Native Americans passed on stories and about their country while taking notes. Reflection: Today, I learned about how Native Americans passed on stories.
