In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

 Prompt: A time I had to set a boundary with a family member was when I had to tell my mother to stop bursting into my room. After this she started knocking on my door twice before coming in. I really appreciated her for making that change. It helped our connection because she learned not to be in my business too much.  Summary: d Today we did a commonlit, then we did a blog post. Reflection: Learned more about compromise through a poem.

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

 Prompt: Something that happened in my life that changed more quickly than expected was my time playing basketball. It started off really good, I moved my way up. At one point I was starting then i got injured during a morning practice, and now I might not make the team because of it.  This connects to Frost's idea of "Nothing staying gold forever" because it shows how something that was once going really good turned into something that can mess up my entire season. In a span of two months. Summary: Today, we read and analyzed two poems. Reflection: I learned how to find multiple themes in a poem.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your favorite word and how often do you use it?

 Prompt: My favorite word right now is deign. It's my favorite word because I like to make people deign themselves to me when i play Clash Royale. I use it basically every day when i'm playing Clash with my friends. I always say "Deign yourself to me you peasant".  Summary: We work on our Birches project, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned how to connect a theme of a poem to my own experiences.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

 Prompt: My imagination helps me cope with challenges by imagining a positive outcome. That comes from me using my challenges to better my self and teach me lessons. It helps me cope with stress by thinking about the good things in my life. It helps me cope with boredom by thinking about past scenarios that happened in my life. Summary: Read and analyzed a poem, then did our blog post. Reflection: Learned how to find a theme of a poem.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

 Prompt: A time I faced a high-pressure situation was when me and my friends ding dong ditched a house. We started out doing it because we were bored and this was our last house. So one of my friends knocked then we all ran behind a big tree. A old white man walked out and just stood there for a few minutes. After we did again, then the old man came out with a pistol. He shot it into the air. Then stood there for a few minutes again. After he went back inside, me and my friends ran to our nearest friend's house. That was the fastest we ever ran. Summary: We read a poem and analyzed it. Reflection: Learned how analyze a poem better.

Write about what you did over the Fall Break.

 Prompt: Most of my fall break was spent in the house. Other than that I did go to Morehouse homecoming with my friends, I had a lot of fun there. After that I went to the Beltline and ate at Real tacos. I also went to this skating rink but I spent most of my time there falling.  Summary: Did a comic strip on 15 new words. Reflection: I learned about 15 new words.

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

 Prompt: Three things I do to enjoy the small things is play clash royale, watched Netflix, and watch TikTok. I play clash royale when I finish my homework. I watch tiktok on my way to the house. I just watch Netflix whenever I have other free time. \ Summary: We went over our argumentative paragraph, then did our blog. Reflection: I learned how to accurately use my reasoning to show my evidence is good for my claim.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt: A time when someone's words had a lasting impact on me was when my coach told me to be confident on the court. I remember his words every time I play. Its helped me develop a lot as a player. I use those words as a reminder to stay confident on the court. Summary: Today, we worked on a work sheet where we said if each claim had good enough evidence to it.' Reflection: I learned how I need specific evidence or evidence that backs my claim up to prove my claim.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

 Prompt: A time I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I had to present in front of the class room in 8th grade. I was doing a book presentation in front of my class over the book Animal Farm. I didn't really prepare before doing it so i was kind of nervous. Nonetheless, I still went up and it went miserably. I still didn't regret it going up after. Summary: Today, we read a story then wrote an argumentative paragraph on it. Reflection: I learned how to pick evidence that actually supports my claim.

Write about a dream that felt real.

 prompt: A dream that felt real was when, I had a dream about a raptor being in my basement. My dream started with me waking up in my bed, then i walked downstairs. When I got downstairs, I heard a loud noise coming from my basement. When I opened there stood a tall raptor, making this loud noise. Then it jumped at me and I woke up at that point. Summary: Today, we wrote down the definitions for vocabulary words, then we wrote 15 sentences for it, then did a Newsela, amd after this we did a blog post. Reflection: I learned the meaning of 15 vocabulary words.

Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

 Prompt: Something I have always been curious about where it is cats go when they walk away from their owner's house. My curiousness for this started when my friend's cat was gone for 3 days. We searched for him everywhere , but we never found him. Until, he popped up randomly one day. Since this, the question has been burning in my head. Summary: We worked on writing a paragraph for our  argumentative essay. Reflection: I learned the format of a paragraph in a argumentative essay.

Write about the best gift you have received.

 Prompt: The best gift I ever received was my beat headphones. They were my best gift because of how versatile they were. Whenever I worked on work I could just listen to music. Whenever I didn't have anyone to talk to I could just connect my phone to my headphones and watch Netflix. Unfortunately, I broke them but I shall be buying them again. Summary: We took notes on formal language and Informal language, then we made a claim for a random, after this we did our blog post. Reflection: I learned how to use formal language and Informal language.

Write about a conversation that changed you.

 Prompt: A conversation that changed me was when me and my mom were talking about having confidence. She told to have confidence in everything I do and stand on everything I say. This really helped me because before this I was a shy person so her saying that helped me have more confidence in myself. I think about that conversation everyday. Summary: We took notes on taking textual evidence, then we wrote did pre-writing for an argumentative essay for social being beneficial and more harmful, after this we did our blog post. Reflection: I learned how to find textual evidence.

Write about something that you believed as a child.

 Prompt: Something I believed in as a child was Santa. That was the time when I enjoyed Christmas the most. I used to try and stay up to see if I could see him putting the presents down. Until 4th grade, when I caught my mom putting presents under the tree. Summary: Today, We worked on a vocabulary assignment then we did our blog post. Reflection: I learned the meaning of 15 words.
