Reflect on an experience where you felt confident in your abilities. How did that confidence influence your choices or effort?

Prompt: A time I felt confident in my abilities was my freshman year in this playoff game against Tucker. My confidence helped me score a career high and I scored the game tying point. Bringing us to over time then we won the game.  It also made my effort higher. Summary: We read chapter 12 and answered questions. Reflection: I learned more about my class mates.

Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

Prompt: The film makes his actions seem more reckless. It makes it seem more reckless because he doesn't have the proper resources to be tramping but he still does nonetheless. The film makes me realize how much it took for Chris to actually travel that far.  Summary: We watch a film about Into the Wild and answer questions. Reflection: I learned more about Chris.

Think about a moment when your understanding of your family changed as you got older. How did that shift impact your perspective, and how does that connect to Chris’s realization about his parents in Chapter 11?

Prompt: A moment my understand of my family changed as I got older was when I seen that my father didn't do nearly as much for me as my mother. It made me appreciate the things my mom does for me more. This connects to Chris's realization about his parents because when that happened it changed the way he seen his parents. Summary: Read chapter 11 and did a worksheet.\ Reflection: I learned about Chris's relationship with his family.

Reflect on your reading of Into the Wild chapters 1–10. Which chapter stood out to you the most, and why? In your response, explain what specifically made this chapter meaningful, interesting, or impactful. You may consider elements such as McCandless’s actions, a key event, a theme, or Krakauer’s storytelling.

Prompt: The chapter that stood out the most to me was chapter 1. It stood out the most because of McCandless's overconfidence in his ability to survive in the wild. His confidence in himself made the chapter really interesting seeing how he turned out in the end. A great chapter that shows how much McCandless believes in himself and wants to test himself. Summary: We took a test. Reflection: I learned more about the messages in into the Wild.

Chris McCandless rejects a traditional path of success and instead defines success on his own terms through freedom, experience, and personal meaning. Reflect on what success means to you at your current stage in life. In the response, explain how success is currently defined (grades, college acceptance, achievements, happiness, etc.) and where those ideas come from. Then, consider whether that definition truly reflects personal values or if it is shaped by expectations from family, school, or society.

Prompt: Success for me is having all A's, getting accepted into most of the colleges I apply to, being a starter on varsity, and being as productive as I can be everyday. Those ideas came from watching how my mom accomplishes things. That definition reflects family expectation because this is everything my family expects out of me. It doesn't bother me because this is a standard that I want to be at. Summary: We did an assignment, then read chapter 9 and 10. Reflection: I learned more about McCandless.

Chris chooses independence over relationships. When have you chosen to be on your own instead of relying on others? What happened, and would you make the same choice again?

Prompt: A time I chose to be on my own instead of relying on others was when I chose to train all summer instead of doing aau. I got really good at one point then I just got lazy. My skills regressed because of how lazy I was. If I had the chance to make this same choice again I would choose to be on my own because I got way better doing it that way.  Summary: Abeent. Reflection: Abesnt.

Choose a vocabulary word from Lesson 10 that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

Prompt: The word that resonates with me personally is largesse. I resonate with this word because it links me to experiences of my friends looking out for me when they don't have to. Like my friend getting me food when I didn't ask for nothing while we were on a trip.  Summary: We wrote 15 sentences, did exercise 1 and 3. Reflection: I learned about 15 new words.

Twice a year we adjust our clocks for daylight saving time, but the change can affect our sleep, energy, and daily routines. Now that we have sprung forward; reflect on how this time change impacts you personally. Do you find it easy or difficult to adjust your schedule? Explain how the time change affects your mood, productivity, or daily habits.

Prompt: When I adjust my clocks for daylight savings it is a very hard for me. I'm usually more grumpy when happens because I get less sleep at night. My productivity increases because the hours in a day is longer. All of my daily habits are usually pushed back by at least 30 minutes. Summary: Absent. Reflection: Absent.

In Chapter 5 of Into the Wild, McCandless is strongly influenced by writers like Jack London, whose stories shape the way he thinks about adventure and wilderness. Has a book, song, musician, or artist ever influenced the way you think about life, goals, or the world around you? Identify the specific book, song, musician, or artist and explain how their ideas or message affected your thinking.

Prompt: A song that inspired how I think about a goal is started from the bottom. I think about my basketball journey when I listen to this song. In the song Drake is talking about how he came from the bottom to the top when it comes to music. I relate to this a lot when it comes to basketball because when I first started everyone use to talk about how trash I was and now i'm on varsity.  Summary: We read Chapter 5 and answered questions about it. Reflection: I learned more about McCandless's journey.

In Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind?

Prompt: If I could only keep a few possessions I would keep my lotion, wallet, and deodorant. I would keep my lotion and deodorant so I could spell good and stay moisturized. I would keep my wallet so when I make money I'd have somewhere to put it and I would have identification. The hardest thing to let go of would by my phone because its how I keep communication with all my friends and family members. Summary: We read chapters 3 and 4, then answered questions about it on Writable. Reflection: I learned more aboud Mccandless's journey.

People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

Prompt: A situation when I needed space from a group in order to gain a new perspective was when I did a different aau team than all of my friends. It made me realize I didn't like Basketball like that. I realized this because when I was by myself I couldn't push myself to do the work I needed to do. I also realized how much further along I would've came if I stuck to doing that though. Summary: We read chapter two and answered questions about it. Reflection: I learned about the themes of the book.

After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

Prompt: I don't believe McCandless truly understands the risk he was taking when he entered the Alaskan Wilderness. I think this because McCandless has little equipment, limited food, and no map. This makes me think he may have underestimated how dangerous the environment could be. It makes it seem like he has no clue how dangerous the risks were when he set out on his journey. Summary: Absent. Reflection: I learned about McCandless journey.

Today you worked on creating your Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.

Prompt: The easier word for me to understand was good. the hardest word for me to under was corroborate. Creating my own sentences help me understand the words because it helped me see how they can be used. Using the images helped understand the words more because it helped visualize them. The picture is what helped me understand corroborate. Summary: We worked on the vocabulary assignment. Reflection: I learned 15 new words.

Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt: The feedback made me realize how much the connection between my similes and metaphors and images was good. This project made me realize that the way your work comes out depends on how much effort you put into it. It also made me realize that the proper planning is necessary when you're are figuring out how you want your poster to come out. Summary: We did five questions about AI, then we commented on everyone's poster. Reflection: I learned how important time management is.
