Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt: Something that happened in my life that changed more quickly than expected was my time playing basketball. It started off really good, I moved my way up. At one point I was starting then i got injured during a morning practice, and now I might not make the team because of it.  This connects to Frost's idea of "Nothing staying gold forever" because it shows how something that was once going really good turned into something that can mess up my entire season. In a span of two months.

Summary: Today, we read and analyzed two poems.

Reflection: I learned how to find multiple themes in a poem.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time

McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?
