If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about?

 Prompt: It would be about my time on varsity for Basketball this year. I would write a poem about this because of how much it's affected me this year. I would also write about it because it taught me a lot of lessons that would also help me in the real world. It helped me grow a lot and made me realize a bunch of things about myself. It also helped me become more tough. Summary: We took notes as a class, then did two commonlit assignments, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned how to write a Rhetorical Analysis.

When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

 Prompt: Strategies I use to put me in a better mood is listening to music. I also talk to friends about why i'm in a bad mood. I play basketball for a few hours. Another strategy is taking a nap. Summary: We did a NewsELA assignment, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned about why Ice surfaces were so slippery.

Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

 Prompt: First, I think about a few ways I could do it. Then, I choose what I want to do, after I plan out how I want to do it. Finally, I just do it. A project I created that I was most proud of was my cultural mask because it was something that reflected me and I got to show it to my peers. Summary: We did a writable assignment, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned about 15 new words.

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

 Prompt: A word that resonates with me personally is staid. It resonates with me because wherever I may I always try to stay respectable. Whenever I have something I need to do I tend to stay serious till I can do it. Sometimes, I tend to be unadventurous as well. Summary: Today, we wrote 15 sentences for each word, did exercise 3 and 4, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned about 15 new words.

After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

 Prompt: I find a Hyperbole the most effective. The way it over exaggerates things makes the point easy to get across. It also makes it more compelling to people. Out of all rhetorical devices this is the most effective in my opinion.  Summary: We took a test on Rhetoric devices, then did our blog post. Reflection: The test helped me understand rhetoric devices more.

Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

 Prompt: A time I didn't feel like myself was when I was sick. I didn't feel like myself because all I did everyday was just lay in bed and sweat. This was so different to compared to when I was healthy because at a point it felt I had so much stuff to do everyday.  Summary: Wasn't here Friday. Reflection: Wasn't here Friday. Also sorry for doing them late, this will not happen again.

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

 Prompt: There's two places I feel most at peace. My house and a basketball court. The first is because at my house, I feel secure and comfortable. The second is because on a court, whenever I'm going through something I can release while I'm playing basketball. Summary: worked on Rhetorical Devices, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned about Rhetorical Devices.

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

 Prompt: I time I had to rely on someone else was when I was telling about how I wasn't feeling confident before a basketball game and they made me feel better. It felt good knowing there was someone I could talk to even about something like that. It also made me realize how good of a friend that they've been to me. This also made me grateful for them. Summary: Worked on Rhetorical devices, then did our blog post. Reflection: Learned about different Rhetorical devices.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

 Prompt: I've learned how to articulate myself better through high school. I've also learned how to work with others by being in school. Life skills I feel like are essential to success after high school are working together, critical thinking skills and being able to articulate yourself correctly. With these skills a person should able to succeed in life. Summary: In class, we learned about types of Rhetoric, then we did our blog post. Reflection: I learned about types of Rhetoric.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

 Prompt: A time I took a hiatus on something important to me when I took a hiatus on basketball. I took a hiatus on it because I had a groin injury for five weeks. It made me think about whether I wanted to continue playing Basketball or not. I decided that I wanted to finish off my time at Lakeside, playing Basketball.  Summary: Learned more about rhetoric devices, then we did our blog post. Reflection: I learned more about Rhetoric Devices.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

 Prompt: Today's lesson was so important it could change the course of history. The lesson on rhetorical devices was somewhat interesting. Learning about rhetorical devices was not a waste of time. Summary: We learned about rhetorical devices, then did our blog post. Reflection: I learned about hyperboles, understatements, and litotes.

In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you

 Prompt: I spent my entire break laying in bed and playing video games. 1st goal: The first goal that I want to achieve this year is getting an A in AP Environmental Science.  This goal is important because I want to use this class to raise my GPA .  To accomplish this goal, I will study this subject for at least thirty minutes a day, do all extra credit in the class, and turn in all work on time. By May 2026, I plan to end this class with an A. 2nd goal: The second goal that I want to achieve is getting my driver's license.  This goal is important because I want more freedom and it would help me manage my responsibilites better. To accomplish this goal, I will study the driver's manual for 30 mins every day, practice driving with a licensed adult every weekend, and complete my required driving hours by the beginning of the summer.
