In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt: A time I had to set a boundary with a family member was when I had to tell my mother to stop bursting into my room. After this she started knocking on my door twice before coming in. I really appreciated her for making that change. It helped our connection because she learned not to be in my business too much.

Summary: d Today we did a commonlit, then we did a blog post.

Reflection: Learned more about compromise through a poem.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time

McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?
